College cross country in Indiana has seen a surge in performance, showcasing a rich pool of talent that has been growing over the years. This year Luke Combs and Erin Strzelecki highlighted the state with All-American finishes at the D1 level. The Notre Dame women placed 4th as a team to get on the podium with the Notre Dame men and Butler men also running at nationals. Addy Wiley took the individual championship at the NAIA level with the Indiana Wesleyan men and Taylor women both securing top 5 national finishes on the NAIA scene.
Before Nationals, the NCAA D1 Great Lakes Regional Championship also underscored this trend of high performing Indiana-based universities as Indiana dominated the landscape on the men's side, with some remarkable women's competitors up front as well. Notably, Butler clinched the men's regional championship, while Notre Dame triumphed on the women's side, both backed by outstanding performances from former Indiana high school athletes. Check out how they did at regionals and nationals below.
