Statewide Girls Notable Performances

The standout performance of the weekend was Libby Dowty's 16:49.48 at the Brownsburg Invitational, the second-fastest time in the country this season. It would be the fastest time recorded in Indiana for girls since the 2022 regional weekend where Lily Cridge ran a 16:46 Despite the course's fast +40 second adjustment, Dowty's dominance was evident, winning by over 1:20 ahead of Sadie Foley, who had a strong start to her season. Carmel's girls were equally dominant, with their entire top five finishing between 18:21 and 18:38, easily winning the meet.

At Harrison, Macey Thompson continued her remarkable improvement, earning her fourth win of the season and breaking 18 minutes for the first time with a 17:45 finish. She won by over 30 seconds ahead of her teammate Chloe Neal, and this 1-2 punch allowed Lake Central to knock off #5 ranked Zionsville 54-66 in team standings.

At CERAland, Carys Glyn Jones earned her first sub-18-minute performance on her home course, running 17:57 to beat Lillian Rollings from Greenwood by 8 seconds. In the team race, Jones' performance would help #7 Columbus North edge out #8 Noblesville 51-63.

In Manchester, three of some of Indiana top girls delivered an exciting race, with Valparaiso's Whitney Anderson taking the win in 18:03 over Kenya Leitch (18:07) from Columbia City and Alice Friesen (18:11) from Huntington North. Valparaiso easily won the meet with a score of 45, beating the competition by 50 points.
