Statewide Boys Notable Performances

At the State Preview meet in Terre Haute, Sam Quagliaroli of Fishers ran the fastest time on LaVern Gibson so far this season with a 15:19.8 finish. Danville's Jack Hearld would be the only one in the field to dare go out at the blistering pace of 2:46 through the first K, running alongside Quagliaroli until the Fishers senior pulled away to open a gap. Herald finished in 15:29, with Max Malloy, Aaron Richter, and Mason Nobles all under 16 minutes. #7 Fishers would defeat #13 Valparaiso 43-59 in the team standings

At one of the fastest races of the day, Brandon Haas took the title at his home course at Brownsburg with a time of 15:17. The Brownsburg course, which received the largest INCCStats adjustment at +46 seconds, saw multiple fast performances. Ryan Miloudi, Aboubakar Ibrahim, Christopher Angeles, and Ian Baker all finished with sub-15:30 marks. Brownsburg won the meet with four runners ahead of runner-up Carmel, finishing with a score of 36-70.

At CERAland in Columbus, the Rick Weinheimer Invite produced the second-fastest course of the day with a +41 second adjustment. Jackson Nolan won the meet just missing a sub-15-minute time, finishing with an IN #2 time of 15:02. The top five runners-Kraedyn Young, John Libs, Neal White, and Jacob Mitchell-all finished under 15:20. A remarkable 24 boys broke the 16-minute barrier.

Four of the state's top eight boys' teams competed, all with top 5 team averages of 15:47 or faster. Noblesville was especially impressive, averaging 15:28 as a team, highlighted by John Libs' third-place finish in 15:08. Freshman Isaiah Vohs also made his 5K debut, finishing in 15:34, ranking 4th in the country for freshmen so far this season. Noblesville scored 46 points, defeating Columbus North (63), Bloomington North (80), and Evansville F.J. Reitz (97).

At Harrison, Shane Conroy earned his fourth win of the season, each victory getting progressively faster. This week, he clocked 15:21 to win comfortably over Lake Central's Ben Perschon, who finished second in 15:36. Five additional boys broke 16 minutes, with #22 ranked Penn dominating the field, scoring 57 points.
