Field Friday: Top Returners in the Shot Put

The 2023 Track and Field Season in Indiana is here and some of the best athletes in the state have already started competing. Even with the start of official practices just a few weeks away, teams and coaches are already going full force into the season and getting on the track, and field, to see how the offseason has gone so far.

In 2023, the shot put depth in Indiana is undeniable. Even after losing all-time great Tucker Smith to graduation, Indiana returns some big names to the throwing ring for 2023. Girls State Champion Hadley Lucas is back to defend her title. Lucas will see battle with Center Grove Senior and Kentucky commit Shelby Wingler who placed second to Lucas at last year's state meet by a margin of just over a foot.
