Track Tuesday: Top Returners in the Hurdles

The 2023 Track and Field Season in Indiana is here and some of the best athletes in the state have already started competing. Even with the start of official practices just about a month away, teams and coaches are already going full force into the season and getting on the track, and field, to see how the offseason has gone so far.

The top returning performances for both boys and girls in the 300 hurdles are also the top returners from the State meet. Sophomore Elia Blackmore from Hamilton Southeastern placed 6th as a freshmen in 2022 and with all seniors ahead of her at that meet she enters the season as the top returner in the event.

Junior Tyler Tarter (pictured above) of Fisher's placed 2nd last year at the State finals and comes into the season with the best returning time of 38.57 which he ran at the state meet. Tarter is one of six boys returning that placed in the top 9 a year ago.
