Rans pushes past the competition on his way to a 4th place state finish

Let's be honest we all can name the top of to cross the line at state, Eckstein, Fendel, Stidam. But who can actually recall the 4th place finisher? Mitchell Rans, crossed 6 seconds behind Stidam to claim 4th at last year's state meet. This kid really used the summer between freshman and sophomore year to his advantage. He made it to state his freshman year but placed 102nd, come back a year later to place 4th. His sophomore year he never placed lower than 5th overall in any meet he raced at. He won sectional through semi-state. He holds a PR of 15:50 going into his junior season, which he should easily improve upon. He has a real shot at the state title, maybe not this season with Fendel in the power spot but next year for sure.
