Field Friday: Top Returners in the Discus

The 2023 Track and Field Season in Indiana is here and some of the best athletes in the state have already started competing. Even with the start of official practices just a few weeks away, teams and coaches are already going full force into the season and getting on the track, and field, to see how the offseason has gone so far.

The throwers in Indiana are some of the most consistent competitors. If you look across the shot put and discus lists, many of the same names will appear towards the top. Hadley Lucas of Bloomington North (pictured above) is the defending champion in both shot and discus with the discus being the more dominant of the two events. The boys side on the other hand could be incredibly close as the top two returning performers have personal bests with in 2 feet of each other. Colin Wilson has the slight lead over another Bloomington North Cougar in Cody Mikulich. The discus title could come down to these two in June.
