Track Tuesday: Top Returners in the Hurdles

The 2023 Track and Field Season in Indiana is here and some of the best athletes in the state have already started competing. Even with the start of official practices just about a month away, teams and coaches are already going full force into the season and getting on the track, and field, to see how the offseason has gone so far.

The high hurdles in Indiana have seen some great champions over the years. Forest Park's Rachel Mehringer has won the 100 meter hurdles at the state meet two years in a row and in June will look to become the 2nd girl to win three 100 meter hurdle titles. The last was Kiersten Doyle of Benton Central from 1992-1994.

The boys will have a new champion for the first time in three years after the graduation of two-time champion John Colquitt. Knox Willis of Zionsville enters 2023 as the top returner from the state meet and with the best time performance with his 14.36 in May. Four other juniors were in the top 9 ...
