The 2022 Indiana seniors might have more depth, but this junior class is not far behind and they are led by two of the greatest talents are sport has to offer today. Nicki Southerland of Delta (pictured above) holds the fastest 5k time amongst returning juniors. She is also coming off a track season in which she took home her first IHSAA State title, winning the 3200 meter run over an incredibly dynamic field. Another incoming junior, Addison Knoblauch of Homestead, won the HSR Large School 3200 meter run on her way to the state indoor record over the distance before her season was cut short due to injury. She surely will have something to prove after missing the outdoor track season and don't forget that Knoblauch was the only brave soul to go after Lily Cridge in the first mile of last year's state cross country meet and still hung on for a 5th place finish.
