Top 10 Boys To Watch This Cross Country Season In Indiana

Stidam pushes himself the final few meters at the 2016 State meet.

#2 Skylar Stidam, Christian Academy of Indiana, Senior

Skylar is easily the #2 guy at the start of the season. He had a stellar breakout junior season. He quickly dropped from an almost 17 minute at the beginning of the season to 15:47 at the end of September in the Ted Fox Memorial Invite, where he also took home 1st place. He took 2nd in the sectional and 3rd in the regional. Then went on to drop his PR to 15:29.1 in the Brown County Semi-state taking 1st place there. At the state meet he took a solid 3rd place behind #1 Gabe Fendel and Curtis Eckstein. He competed at the FSU Relays in March, placing 9th in the 3200 in 9:19.02. About a week later he also competed at Arcadia, placing 27th in his 3200 in a 9:23.58. At the state meet he narrowly lost the 3200 to Eckstein by just one second to take 2nd place in 9:09.69. This fall he is a contender for the individual race, but he will have to find a way to stick with Fendel from the beginning if he wants that state title.
