Carmel goes from third to first in final leg of 4x400 relay
Carmel, North Central (Ind.), and Hamilton Southeastern placed first through third after a back-and-forth affair in the 4x400-meter race. HSE would be down their freshman superstar Anissa Lammie who pulled up in the 400m.
Hamilton Southeastern started the final lap with a lead over the other two teams and looked in position to win with 200 meters left. Athena Dixon of North Central (Ind.) drew even with Chloe Senefeld but, in the end, it was Carmel's Emily Norris who ran the fastest anchor leg on the day and crossed the line first with the state's fastest time of the year with a 3:50.90.
