2020 IHSAA Regional Previews: 5-8

Regional 6 - West Noble

Those attending the West Noble regional will get the chance to see two of Indiana's best runners. Angola's Izaiah Steury owns the state's fastest time - a 14:51 set at the Marion Invitational on the course at Indiana Wesleyan University. Carroll's Zoe Duffus will be a state contender on the girls side, her best time of 17:35.6 is just half a second behind the number one girls time in Indiana set by Nicki Southerland. Both Steury and Duffus easily dispatched the field in their sectionals last week.

Led by Duffus, the Carroll girls team looks poised to dominate this regional. The Chargers had five girls run under 20:00 last week, which should be more than enough to secure their 20th consecutive regional title.

Concordia and Homestead both bring good girls teams to this regional, and should have a good race for second. Expect to see Leo advance, with Bishop Dwenger, East Noble and Dekalb racing for the last transfer spot.

Concordia's boys team easily handled the Northrop sectional last week, and they will not see a tougher test in this regional. Look for Bishop Dwenger, Homestead and Westview to have a tight race for second, while Carroll and Columbia City fight for the right to advance to the semi-state.

Racing will get started at 10:30 AM Eastern Time.
