Statewide Girls Updates

In the girls race at the Hoosier Crossroads Conference Championships Alivia Lozier would take the lead early heading into the woods loops before Elizabeth Butler from Hamilton Southeastern would claim the lead and grow her gap all the way to the finish where she would run a 18:10. Lozier would still be able to hold on for 18:23. The team race for the title would be close with four schools in the mix. Noblesville would claim the title with 69 points. Franklin Central (74), Zionsville (85), and Hamilton Southeastern (85) all would be within 16 points from the win.
Mallory Weller would dominate the AAA race at the New Haven Invitational with a time of 17:36. Daphne Weller, who appears to be her younger sister, would finish runner-up with a time of 18:26. This duo would help Fort Wayne Concordia to a win over Homestead by 17 points with a score of 34-51.
At the Circle City Conference Championships Julia Score would win by nearly a minute with a 18:00. Her time would help earn Bishop Chatard a runner-up performance to Brebeuf who would score 31 points.
At the Hoosier Heritage Conference Championships Ava Jarrell and freshman Anya Zoeller from Pendleton Heights would go 1-2 once again. Jarrell would finish with an 18:08 with Zoeller going 18:47. The pair would be the only girls under 20 minutes. Their efforts would also help land Pendleton a team title with 46 points.
Jenna Walker, another top freshman in the state from Kankakee Valley, would have an impressive win at the Culver Academies Open Varsity race with a 18:21. Annabel Pollert from Carmel would be the only other girl in the race to break 19 minutes. In the team scores Penn would knock off the Carmel team by 10 points with a score of 49-59.
