Hamilton County Boys Recap

In the boys' race, Sam Quagliaroli took the lead early and never looked back, cruising to defend his Hamilton County Championship title with a new 2024 state-leading time of 15:13.3. A pack of three Noblesville runners and two Carmel runners stuck together through the second woods loop before splintering on the way to the finish. Among them, John Libs ran a consistent race, even-splitting to finish in 15:29, while Liam Powers took third with a 15:42, one of only two runners in the top 20 to negative split the race.

Noblesville's boys looked unstoppable, placing four in the top eight and achieving a 15:55 team scoring average. In addition to Libs' runner-up finish, the Millers were bolstered by Banner Barnes (4th), Ronnie Neal (5th), Jack Strong (8th), and Jack Rush (17th), securing a 36-64 victory over Carmel. Noblesville also competed without freshman Isaiah Vohs, who won the state middle school championship last fall and could elevate Noblesville to state championship contention. He would clock a 9:30 3K time at LaVerne Gibson before running a double at the middle school track state championships in the 1600m and 2400m where he would win both going 4:33.43 and 7:20.66 respectivley. INCCStats already ranks this Noblesville's performance at County as the best in the state this season, even without Vohls. It will be interesting to see how the freshman can perform.
