Hamilton County Girls Recap

The Hamilton County Championships kicked off with the girls' race, where a leading pack of five quickly established themselves, hitting the mile mark in the 5:40s. As they entered the second woods loop, Sadie Foley, Elizabeth Butler, and Ansley Applegate were neck and neck. During that loop, Foley and Butler broke away, with Alivia Lozier from Westfield moving up to third. In the final stretch, Foley made her decisive move in the last kilometer, opening up a comfortable gap to finish first with a time of 18:28.7. This victory positioned her as Indiana's 7th fastest time this year, adding another win after her victory last week at Northview. Butler held on for second with an 18:44, while Annabel Pollert, who also won her race at Northview, rounded out the top three, also finishing in 18:44.

The Carmel girls dominated the day, led by Foley's low score. The Greyhounds ran smart races, with Annabel Pollert and Larkin Taylor both negative-splitting to outpace several runners in the final half. Margo Halle (8th) and Olivia Mundt (9th) helped Carmel secure a 26-66 victory over Noblesville, clinching the County title. Having the entire scoring lineup finish in the top 10 is an impressive feat, and INCCStats reflected this, ranking it as the best girls' team performance of the year in the state.
