Cats may not usually like to get wet but the Fishers Tigers put together their best collective performance of 2024 in the rain Saturday, winning the state title with 60 points. After finishing second at both sectionals and regionals to cross town rival Hamilton Southeastern, Fishers got revenge and reversed the roles.
Eleven Fishers athletes competed and represented nearly every discipline: hurdles, middle distance, throws, jumps, and (all three) relays. More importantly, they scored in eight of the nine events they participated in.
HSE was the runner-up with 54 points, followed by Bloomington North (40), Franklin Central (26), and Carmel (25). Brebeuf Jesuit, Center Grove, and North Central (Ind.) all tied for sixth with 24 points.
