The Indoor Season has Arrived: Top Marks so Far

Girls IN Highlights from Midwest High Performance Series #1

Girls 60m & 200m
Nadia Ford, a freshman from Fort Wayne Carroll, would debut her high school career with an impressive runner-up performance in a 7.92 in the 60m. Ford would also run the 200m as part of a triple at the meet. She would place 3rd which is good for the top time in Indiana so far this season with her time of 26.45.

Girls 60m Hurdles 
Pa'Shence Purnell, a senior from Herron High School, would run to a 9.10 runner-up performance only behind Ric'Keya White from Wayne in Ohio who is currently ranked fifth in the United States. Her time is also a notable improvement from last season as she has improved by several tenths of a second. Purnell was a state qualifier in the 100m hurdles last outdoor season.

Girls 400m 
Ava Grace Winters would break 60 seconds to take the top spot on the state leaderboard for Indiana to start the season. She improved upon last weeks' performance at the Mastodon Opener collegiate meet. Winters was a part of last year's 4x100m squad at Lawrence North as a freshman. She would help the team to a podium finish in 7th at outdoor state.

Girls 800m 
Caterina Perego from Homestead took the win with a time of 2:26.86. This was just over an hour after running in the 1600m where she had a massive PR of 5:11.37 according to our database. The sophomore was the fourth contributor for the Homestead squad that was state champions this past season. 

Girls 1600m 
The top two duo of Mallory Weller and Lexi Panning from Fort Wayne Concordia were able to take the top two positions and able to place themselves at US #5 and US #7 with times of 4:58.51 and 5:00.08 according to our database. Mallory would quickly get out to a fast start with Lexi running a relatively even race closing ground in the last 800m. Their teammates Sidney Scheumann, Hannah Clark, and Lilly Schlicker would take the 4th-6th positions in the race.

Girls 3200m
Lilly Schlicker would double back take the win in the small field in the 3200m with a 12:10.95. This small field also represents all of the girls that have run the 3200m so far this season. Lilly was the 5th runner for the state runner-up Concordia team that placed right behind Homestead.

Girls High Jump
Scout Warner and Sukh Chahal would both jump a height of 4' 10" where they both share the top on the Indiana leaderboard. Last season Scout Warner jumped to a 5' 4" at the DeKalb vs. East Noble dual meet and is a recent commit to Purdue Fort Wayne

Girls Long Jump
London Helloms from Lawrence North would jump to a new PR according to our database with a 17' 6.5". Last season she would jump to runner-up honors at the Marion County Championships as well as at the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Championships. Her and Anna Ream are the only Indiana girls to clear 16 feet so far this season with Ream jumping a 17' 4".

Girls Pole Vault
Ashlyn Schwab from Brownsburg would easily win with a vault of 12' 3" which currently ranks as 16th in the country. Schwab is an Indiana State commit and would tie her personal best which was from the outdoor Indiana All-Star meet last year. Ashlyn was also a state qualifier last season after winning a Hoosier Crossroads Conference title.

Girls Shot Put
Camiel Robinson would win the shot put by 5 inches with a mark of 35' 02". Her distance is over 5 feet further than any other Indiana girls for this indoor season.
