Indiana Runner Invitational Highlights


The campus of PFW played host to the second Indiana Runner Indoor meet of the early season.

Many stars showed out at the track for some great performances on their way to early season wins in Ft. Wayne.

Let's go over some top highlights from the Indiana Runner Invite!

Girls Meet Highlights

Tajaina McKenzie was a triple event winner winning the 60 meter dash, 200 meter dash, and long jump. McKenzie's win in the long jump was the most dominant of the three winning by over 2 feet with a jump of 18'7" to earn the victory.

Henriette Schminke won the 800 meter run in a close finish against Ava Jarrell. Schminke's winning time of 2:21.71 was only .15 faster than Jarrell on the way to the victory.

Jarrell had her redemption in the 1600 meter run when she was the winner of another close race as she raced to a time of 5:12.61. Three other athletes finished under 5:20 in the race as well.

Elizabeth Butler was the winner of the 3200 meter run in an impressive 11:20 in the early season meet.

Two stars won field events on Saturday as Malina Miller won the high jump at 5'6" and the state's best pole vaulter Kailee Swart won the vault with a 12'6" jump.


Boys Meet Highlights

Finley Huber had a big day winning the 60 meter dash and placing 2nd in the 200. 

Dylan Walker continued the trend by winning the 200 meter dash and also placed 2nd in the 400. 

Cameron Mullens was the winner of that 400 meter dash in a time of 50.51.

One of the more impressive performances of the day came in the 800 when Griffen Wheeler won the race under 2 minutes running 1:58.48 to earn the victory. 

Colin Lakomek took his talents into the 1600 and came away with a victory in 4:31 as a few other athletes also broke 4:40.

David Fairer of Ben Davis was the winner of the long jump winning by only 5 inches with his 20'2.5" jump to earn the victory.
