Field Friday: Top Returners in the Long Jump
The 2023 Track and Field Season in Indiana is here and some of the best athletes in the state have already started competing. Even with the start of official practices just a few weeks away, teams and coaches are already going full force into the season and getting on the track, and field, to see how the offseason has gone so far.
The long jump in Indiana will see a few of the top athletes from last year's state meet returning. Alexia Smith, the defending state champion is back to defend her title from a year ago. Tajaina McKenzie, who had the best performance during 2022 also returns and will look to try and take the title. On the boys side, the top returning finisher from the state meet is Delta's Abram Stitt who placed 3rd and has the top returning performance from last year when he jumped 23'4.5" at the regionals.
