It was a great 2011-2012 in both cross country and track across the state of Indiana. Many of our seniors will soon be on their way to start their college careers both athletically and academically so we wanted to salute them one more time in this special feature.

The Lake Central boys’ track and field team has won a conference title, a sectional title and maybe, a regional title. On Thursday, Lake Central and a host of other squads left the Valparaiso Regional without knowing the team champion. Mitch Hubner doesn't even remember what place he got at the Indiana State Cross Country Championships his freshman year. All he knows is it was around 100th. Good guess. The LaPorte star crossed the line in 17:00. The past three seasons have been a different story.
