Meet Information

2024 NIKE XC TOWN TWILIGHT

PRESENTED BY GARMIN

Cross Country Town USA, the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF), Garmin, the Terre Haute Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Terre Haute South Vigo High School are excited for the opportunity to host the 2024 Nike XC Town Twilight at the LaVern Gibson Cross Country course, host of 15 national championships and this year's IHSAA State and NXR Midwest Regional Cross Country Championships.

Everyone is invited to participate in our JV, Open and Championship divisions against the best teams from the Midwest and the nation in a festive championship atmosphere complete with fanfare and fireworks for all to enjoy. The boys and girls USA Race of Champions, both Presented by Nike, will take place after sunset "under the lights!"

New for 2024! Due to massive growth in our meet, we will be adding a boys and girls Open section on Friday night "under the lights."

*Our event will be NFHS sanctioned.* All teams and individuals must represent his/her high school and be in good standing with the National Federation of State High School Associations.

What High Schools Can Compete? 

This meet is sanctioned by the NFHS.  All HS teams that are NFHS members are welcome to attend.  Teams will register under their school affiliation and must compete representing their respective high schools. Races are open to all high school teams regardless of location.

Entry Fees:

$180.00 per team of 10 (Open/ROC)$45.00 per individual athlete$400.00 bulk fee per school*Entry fees can be made via credit card on AthleticNET or other arrangements must be made ahead of the meet.

Saturday, October 5 (updated September 25)

4:45pm- COURSE OPENS6:00pm-JV Boys 1 6:30pm-JV Boys 2**Results from JV Boys 1 and JV Boys 2 will be combined for results.7:00pm- JV Girls 1 7:30pm - Boys 18:00pm- Open Boys 2**Results from Boys Open 1 and Boys Open 2  will be combined for results.8:30pm- Open Girls Blue Race 9:00pm- Race of Champions Boys 9:30pm- Race of Champions Girls 9:55pm- Awards

The boys and girls Race of Champions sections will be seeded by meet management and will include the top 35-40 teams that enter each section.  Teams not selected for these championship races, will be moved to the Open race.

Awards Ceremonies-Saturday

All Awards begin immediately following girls ROC (approximately 10pm)*Fireworks to follow

JV Races

A trophy will be awarded to the team champion in each JV section.Top finisher t-shirts will be given to the top 5 individuals in each section.Medals will be given to the top 15 finishers *JV results will be combined for results

Open Races

A trophy will be awarded to the team champion in each Open section.Top finisher t-shirts will be given to the top 5 individuals in each section.Medals will be given to the top 15 finishers.

Race of Champions

Trophies will be awarded to the top team champions and runner-ups in each ROC section.Top finisher t-shirts will be given to the top 10 individuals in each section.Medals will be given to the top 15 finishers.

Which race should I register for:

The JV and open sections will be open for registration at the coach's discretion. The Race of Champions will be limited to the top 30 teams that enter in each race. Any teams that do not make the ROC field will be placed in the Open section.

Packet Pick-up:

Course opens at 5:00pm for packet pick up and course run-thrus.*ALL PACKETS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON SITE AT LAVERN GIBSON in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center. 

Retail Sales:

Nike apparel will be for sale beginning at 5:00pm on race day.

Bib Number/Timing Chip:

Bib chips will be used this year.  Timing chip will be attached to the back of the athlete bib number. Please do not bend or crinkle the bib as there is a chance of damaging the chip.

Box Assignments:

Box number assignments will be included in the packets and will be available at check-in. They will also be available at the event website.

Results:

Results will be available on RunnerSpace.com, AthleticNET and nikexctowntwilight.runnerspace.com.

Spectator Admission:

$5 per person, children under 10 are free. Parking is free!

Beverages:

Bottles of Gatorade and water will be available to athletes on site.

Lost and Found:

Any lost and found items can be picked up at the packet pick up area in the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center (same location as packet pick up and awards pick up).
