With the decade quickly coming to a close, review our selections for Ohio's top programs, top 7 and top overall individuals for both girls and boys. 

Indiana University's Dustin Horter recorded a time of 24:39.70 in the 8K White Division contest at the Wisconsin Pre Nationals meet in Madison.

Here is a look at the Top Ten performances outdoors in each event of the last decade: Four returning boys are currently ranked: Sr. Michael Vitucci of St. Xavier has the top spot in the 1600 with a time of 4:07.96, Sr. Kyle Mau of Hudson is ranked 7th in the 3200 with a 9:03.07, Pickerington North Sr. Nick Gray has the 5th fastest time in the 200 with a 21.00 and Sr. Chad Zallow of JFK Warren has the 9th fastest 300mH with a 36.87.

Ohio's Top 10 Boys Performances of the Week (2/9-2/15)

NEW OH #1's this past weekend: Frances Bull Lake Catholic 400 56.48, Lainey Studebaker Centerville 1600 5:01.23, Carly Davis Dublin Jerome 3200 11:00.36, Ayanna O'Neal Withrow 60mH 8.67. Geneva Girl's 4x400 3:58.22, Gavin Gaynor Hudson 1600 4:16.18, Kyle Mau Hudson 3200 9:22.23 and Mitchell Soviak North Union SP 61-4.

Hudson Sr. Kyle Mau is the OATCCC 2014 Boy's Cross Country Runner of the Year! Kyle had an impressive 2014 Cross Country season.  He managed to finish 4th in the D1 Boy's State race, despite being ill, with a time of 15:43.46.  He followed up his State run with a 19th at the Footlocker Midwest Regional (15:46.00) and a 10th in the Nike Cross National Midwest Regional, running  a 15:19.90.  He was ranked #1 in the State by time this year with a 15:15.17.  In 2013, Kyle was 3rd in the OHSAA D1 race with a 15:41.65.   On the track, Kyle has also proven that he is one of Ohio's best Distance runners.  He has a 4:11.95 PR in the 1600 and was 6th in the 2013 D1 State race with a 4:13.19.  In 2014, he ran 2nd in the 3200 with a 9:03.07.

Week in Review 10/06 - 10/13.   As we move into the postseason, Hudson's Kyle Mau jumps ahead of St. Xavier's Michael Vitucci in the boys ranking with his 15:15.17 at the Northeast Ohio Conference - Valley Division Championships.  Liberty Center's Brittany Atkinson moves into the number two position in the girls rankings with her 17:34.10 at the Northwest Ohio Athletic League Championships.                                  

The top 3 fastest runners in Division 1 between Colin Burdette, Michael Vitucci, and Nick Grismer were all together at the Trinity/Valkyrie Invitational with Vitucci posting the top time in the state with his 15:16 run. Meanwhile, the Hilliard Davidson senior Burdette improved his season best time from that meet (6th, 15:32) this past weekend at the Portage Invitational in Michigan.

We teased you with a top 10 watch list article and a Who's #1 video ranking the top 7 boys cross country runners in the country. Now is the time to reveal our complete pre-season top 25 national rankings of the best boys returning in the nation for the 2014 XC season. 

Vote for MileSplit's National Boys XC Performer of the Week #1 (Monday, August 18th through Saturday, August 23rd meets). The following 11 boys from 9 different states had national noteworthy wins in major invitationals and races this past week. Voting ends on Wednesday, August 27th at 8 PM ET.

It is always difficult to predict who will be atop the podium individually and as the team champions in November at the OHSAA State XC Meet.  Here is a Pre-Season preak however, of some of the top returning D1 Boy and Girl Individuals and Teams throughout Ohio in our three divisions, based upon 2013 times and returners.

Hudson Senior Kyle Mau has been to the OHSAA State XC meet three times.  As a Freshman, he was 81st running 16:36.08, as a Sophomore, he was 23rd in 15:50.87 and as Junior he was third in 15:21.93.  He is the leading D1 returner.  Last spring, he was 2nd in the D1 3200 with a time of 9:03.07.  As a Sophomore, he placed 6th in the D1 1600 with a 4:13.19.

The Buckeye State was well represented at the New Balance Nationals.  The St. Xavier's boys   putt an exclamation on their Ohio State Championship in the 4 x 800 by winning the New Balance Nationals 4 x 800.  Here is a list of those that competted in the Championship events.
