Carmel competed in tonight's Noblesville Sectional which featured 4 teams ranked in the top 16 in the State. The #1 ranked Hounds ran a strong race to win with 25 points. Other teams included #5 Hamilton Southeastern (54), #3 Westfield (81), #16 Fishers (98), Noblesville (130), Guerin Catholic (170), Tipton (213), Hamilton Heights (216), University (273), Lebanon (305) and Sheridan (353). Individual winner was Hamilton Southeastern's Troy Reeder in 15:40.00. Running for Carmel were Robert Browning (2nd in 15:50.01), Corey Turner (3rd in 15:53.61), freshman Ben Veatch (5th in 15:54.25), Michael George (7th in 15:57.66), Ben Anderson (8th in 15:58.07), Charlie Watson (13th in 16:03.64) and Jaedon Wilson (14th in 16:06.80). I will add that in an open race time trial prior to the meet and with only 20 minutes warm-up, Patrick Appleton ran 16:08 and Daniel Williams ran 16:14.
The Greyhounds advance to Saturday's Brebeuf Regional which will feature 9 of the top 16 teams in the State.
