Ben Davis Invitational Recap

The Greyhounds competed in today's Ben Davis Invitational.  Due to very heavy rains the evening before, the course had to be altered and was about 300 meters long and very wet and muddy.  Carmel ran a controlled race to win with 18 points.  Additional teams included Franklin Central (133), Chesterton (133), West Lafayette (140), Zionsville (142), Avon (163), Center Grove (180), Plainfield (181), Ben Davis (214), Southport (279), Greencastle (282), Lawrence North (299), Heritage Christian (371), Pike (383), Columbus East (399), Western Boone (451), Seeger (525) and Tri West (556).
 
Carmel's Corey Turner was the individual winner with a time of 17:05.  Running for the Greyhounds were Jaedon Wilson (2nd in 17:07), Charles Watson (4th in 17:12), Michael George (5th in 17:12), Ben Anderson (6th in 17:13), freshman Ben Veatch (8th in 17:20) and Daniel Williams (12th in 17:24).
 
The Hounds dominated the Reserve race with 15 points followed by Franklin Central (66), Zionsville (82), Avon (112), Chesterton (137), Fishers (216), West Lafayette (242), Center Grove (244), Lawrence North (269), Pike (274), Ben Davis (337), Columbus East (340), Southport (399) and Western Boone (403).
 
Carmel's Collin McMahon was the individual winner with a time of 17:45.  Greyhounds in the top 25 included Josh Horowitz (2nd in 17:47), Daniel Sechuga (3rd in 17:56), Jace Wisdorf (4th in 17:59), Kyle Hook (5th in 18:06), Alex Cashbaugh (6th in 18:08), Connor Hitchcock (7th in 18:09), Sepaus Crawford (8th in 18:10), Michael Lukovic (9th in 18:19), Andrew Kalthoff (12th in 18:24), Matthew Croaning (16th in 18:36), Thomas Revard (17th in 18:37), Jodan Ehrlich (19th in 18:40), Zach Horowitz (22nd in 18:44) and Kyle Weaver (25th in 18:54).

The Carmel Greyhounds will next Saturday September 15, 2012 travel to Louisvile Kentucky to compete in the Trinity Invitational.  This excellent meet will feature two teams ranked ahead of Carmel in the National rankings on XCNation.com along with two FootLocker finalists from last year.  Our goal as a team will be to make a statement both at the State level in Indiana and on the National scene.
