STATE FINISHES THIS SPRING
Brownsburg sent two freshmen to state podiums in back-to-back years

Last June, Nife Ogunleye finished third at the IHSAA Girls State Track and Field Meet in the 100 at 11.80. She was a freshman. This spring Jordan Redmon finished third at the IHSAA Boys State Track and Field Championships in the 200 at 21.51. He is a freshman.
Ogunleye has been competing since 2022 as a middle schooler - 12.93 in the 100 at a middle school conference meet in 2023, 12.37 at the Indiana State Middle School Championships in 2024, 11.80 at IHSAA State as a freshman last spring. This spring she is 6th in Indiana in the 100 at 11.90. She made the IHSAA Girls State prelims on June 5 at 12.03 but did not advance to the final.
Redmon's freshman season went: 21.46 at IHSAA Regional on May 28 for 3rd place, 21.51 in the state final for 3rd place. He is 8th in Indiana in the 200. He also long jumps 21-6 and there is still so much more left to come during his high school career.
The throwing group tells a different story. Trajan Fults and Cooper Meadows are both seniors who have been throwing together at Brownsburg since 2023. Fults is 3rd in Indiana in the hammer at 147-9. Meadows is 6th in the hammer at 127-7 and 47th in the discus at 158-0 - a PR he set against Zionsville on May 13. Leila Yarbrough is a sophomore throwing alongside them - 5th in Indiana in the hammer at 111-5 and 48th in the discus at 121-5. On May 30, all three went to the Only Throwers Hammer Meet after the IHSAA calendar had closed. Fults 4th (147-9), Yarbrough 5th (111-5), Meadows 7th (127-7). Three Brownsburg athletes at the same post-season meet, treating the end of the IHSAA postseason as a beginning rather than a finish line.
Trew Holbrook is a junior who made IHSAA Boys State in the 400. He ran 48.30 at IHSAA Regional on May 28 for 2nd place - 8th in Indiana - and ran 49.04 at the state final for 13th. He went to the USATF National Junior Olympic Championships in both 2024 and 2025. His 400 career: 53.75 in middle school in 2023, 49.52 at IHSAA Regional in 2024, 48.30 this spring. Sam Omodusonu is a sophomore who high jumped 5-6 as a freshman last year and 6-7.25 this spring - 8th in Indiana - a PR set against Zionsville on May 13. He cleared 6-0 at IHSAA Regional but did not advance.
The rest of the roster fills out every event group. Sophia N'Gbesso (2026) is 10th in Indiana in the 300 hurdles at 44.34. Cierra Smith (2026) is 11th in the 100 hurdles at 14.57 and 14th in the 300 hurdles at 44.81. Connor Thomas (2026) is 12th in the state in the discus at 170-6. Elijah Balbach (2026) is 17th in the 3200 at 9:08.47.
The program covers every event, stay tuned for more.
