Danville's Bumgardner Is One of The Top in Indiana

BUMGARDNER IS QUICK

The Danville Community senior has dropped nearly two full seconds in the 200m over three years of outdoor track

Collin Bumgardner's 200m line at Danville Community began in 2024 when he was a sophomore, with a 22.68 in the prelims of the Mustang Invitational. He ran 23.03 to finish sixth at IHSAA Sectional 12 that May and did not advance. Junior year the times got tighter - 21.82 to finish second at the Hendricks County Championships, 22.14 to finish second at the Sagamore Conference meet, 22.15 to finish third at IHSAA Sectional 18. Again, he did not advance past sectionals in the 200m. But the commitment was there: he went to Nike Outdoor Nationals that summer and ran 22.48 in the 200m prelims. And the speed was building.

Senior year the 200m has been a different story. Bumgardner ran 21.51 to win the Lafayette Jefferson Sprinters Showcase, 21.35 to win the Hendricks County Championships and 21.36 to win IHSAA Sectional 18  - advancing to regionals in the 200m. At IHSAA Regional 5 in Plainfield he ran 21.17  to win the final. That mark is the Indiana #1 outdoor 200m for 2026

He's been consistent over 100m, too. Bumgardner's season's best is 10.62, run to finish second at IHSAA Sectional 18. He ran 10.65 to win the Hendricks County Championships, 10.72 in the Regional 5 prelims, and 10.81 in the Regional 5 final.
