Indiana high school track and field athletes posted several personal records during meets held April 13-17.
De'Andre Fellows (Evansville Memorial) ran 10.73 in the 100 meters at the Harrison/Castle/Memorial Tri on April 16, dropping from his previous PR of 11.74 set in April. The sophomore placed fourth of 17 runners and ranks #19 in the state and #3 among sophomores while establishing a school record.
Josiah Becton (Merrillville) leaped 22-5.25 in the long jump at the Merrillville vs Lake Central vs LaPorte meet on April 14, improving from 19-5.25 set in March. The senior won the event among 12 competitors and ranks #9 in Indiana.
Kiayah McKinney (Connersville) clocked 15.89 in the 100m hurdles at the Connersville/New Palestine/Rushville meet on April 14, improving from 18.90 set earlier in April. The freshman won the event among seven competitors and ranks #40 in the state and #3 among freshmen. McKinney also set PRs in the high jump (4-6, from 4-4) and 300m hurdles (52.91, from 1:00.00) at the same meet.
Katy Kieninger (Peru) ran 12.61 in the 100 meters at Peru vs Logansport on April 17, improving from 14.54. She placed second of five competitors, ranks #51 in Indiana and set a school record. Kieninger also improved in the shot put from 30-5 to 30-7.
Rafa Iglesias (Castle) ran 10.68 in the 100 meters at the Harrison/Castle/Memorial Tri on April 16, improving from 11.65 set in April. The freshman placed third of 17 runners and ranks #16 in the state and #1 among freshmen.
Jayden Painter (Shenandoah) clocked 10.80 in the 100 meters at the Raider Tri Meet on April 13, improving from 11.66 set in March. He won the event among 19 competitors, ranks #26 in Indiana and set a school record.
