Indiana's Class of 2028 Picks Up Where They Left Off

Walker, Watson, Prater, and Condon all make early statements

The 2026 outdoor season is just underway in Indiana, and four Class of 2028 athletes have already made a splash on the leaderboards. Mike Walker, Colton Watson, Mikayla Prater, and Mackenna Condon each opened with marks that sit at the top of the sophomore lists statewide.

Mike Walker | Hammond Morton | So. | 100m / 200m 

Walker won both the 100m and 200m at the Chris Nicolini Invitational on Mar. 30, running PRs of 10.64 and 21.42 respectively. The 10.64 leads all Indiana sophomores in the 100m by 0.46 seconds over second place, puts him top the state regardless of age, and ties him 35th in the country. The 21.42 also leads all Indiana sophomores in the 200m. Indoors this past season he ran 6.71 in the 60m at the 2026 Indian Open on Mar. 7, which tied at first in the state overall regardless of grade. Last outdoor season his 100m best was 10.99 and his 200m best was 22.39.
