SENEFELD LEADS TWO LEADERBOARDS. HEATH AND LONG HEADLINE THE BOYS
Senefeld opens with a 100mH PR. Heath is already faster than his 2025 state mark. Long leads the 300mH
Three athletes, four state leaderboard positions. The first few weeks of Indiana's outdoor hurdles season have been headlined by a Hamilton Southeastern senior, a Manchester senior, and a hurdler who does a lot more than hurdle. Let's take a look.
Chloe Senefeld went to the Tri @ NC on Mar 25 and left leading two state leaderboards. The Hamilton Southeastern High senior ran 15.42 in the 100mH, a PR, and 43.85 in the 300mH, winning both. Her 300mH PR is 42.62, set at the 2025 IHSAA Girls State Track & Field Meet where she finished second. She also ran 1:00.75 in the 400mH at Nike Outdoor Nationals in 2025, finishing ninth. Teammate Micaiah Bullock ran 49.03 in the 300mH at the same meet, fourth on the state leaderboard.
Isis Robbins of Elkhart sits second in both the 100mH (16.01) and 300mH (49.16), both at the Elkhart/Mishawaka/Riley Tri-Meet on Mar 25. The sophomore is one of just a few athletes to appear in the top five of both girls hurdle events. (Madelyn Knies of Jasper is another, sitting third in the 300mH at 48.53 and fifth in the 100mH at 16.70, both from the Evansville Memorial/Evansville North @ Jasper meet; Waverly Woolever of Hamilton Heights sits second in the 300mH at 48.12, run at the Lebanon HS vs Hamilton Heights meet on Mar 20.)
Carson Heath ran 14.74 in the 110mH at the Central Noble vs Manchester High School Track meet on Mar 24, a PR and the state's top mark. The Manchester High School senior made the 2025 state meet in the event but went out in prelims at 14.92. He is already past that. Darian Walker of Evansville North sits second at 15.00.
Sam Long is more than just a hurdler. Sure, he leads the Indiana boys 300mH leaderboard at 39.31, run at the HSE Boys vs North Central meet on Mar 25, and he also ran 14.73 in the 110mH at the same meet. But his indoor 400m PR is 51.44 and his 60m PR is 7.27 - he's more than capable over flat events, too! Behind him in the 300mH, Manchester High School has two athletes in the top four: Holden Poston at 40.33 and Eli Metzger at 40.48, both from the Central Noble vs Manchester High School Track meet on Mar 24. Ryley Cowan of Jasper sits second at 40.06.
