Arthur Banks goes 15-6 in the pole vault
Bloomington South junior Arthur Banks cleared 15-6.00 at the ISU HSR Qualifier to win the event by three feet. Owen Loftus (Terre Haute South Vigo, So.) was second at 12-6.00. Loftus had won the same event at the Brave Elephant Invite earlier in the weekend at 12-9.00.
ZaNariae White turns up at both meets
Terre Haute South Vigo sophomore ZaNariae White competed at both invitationals and was the standout girls sprinter/jumper at each. At the Brave Elephant Invite she won the long jump at 18-5.00. At the ISU Qualifier she won the 60 final in 7.88 and went 17-7.50 in the long jump - finishing second behind Vivienne Young (Wood Memorial, So.) who went 17-8.25.
Vivienne Young edges the long jump
Vivienne Young's 17-8.25 at the ISU Qualifier was the top girls horizontal mark of the weekend. Adriene Shaevitz (Bloomington South, Sr.) was third at 17-6.00. Young also ran 8.21 in the 60 prelims.
Adriene Shaevitz doubles in hurdles and jumps
Adriene Shaevitz won the girls 60 hurdles at the ISU Qualifier in 9.02 - she led prelims at 9.24 as well - and added the long jump bronze at 17-6.00. Samara Newburn (Terre Haute South Vigo, So.) was second in the hurdles final at 9.28. Stella Hall (Mt. Vernon, Fr.) was third in 9.51.
Caiden Bosley sweeps the sprints at ISU
Heritage Hills senior Caiden Bosley won the boys 60 final at the ISU Qualifier in 7.04 - having run 7.25 in prelims - and came back to win the 200 in 23.56. Josiah Powell (Bloomington North, Sr.) was second in the 60 at 7.06, with Richard Hilaire (Evansville Harrison, Sr.) third at 7.09. Ryan Lilleston (Mt. Vernon, So.) was second in the 200 at 23.87.
Jacob Randolph runs 6.64 at Early Bird
Evansville North junior Jacob Randolph won the boys 60 at the Brave Elephant Invite in 6.64 - the fastest 60 mark from either meet this weekend. Teammate Cole McBride (Sr.) was second at 6.74, with TJ Michel (Sr.) third at 6.85. Evansville North swept the top three.
Aidan Alston wins the 3200
Gibson Southern junior Aidan Alston took the boys 3200 at the ISU Qualifier in 9:37.90. Aiden Miller (Terre Haute South Vigo, Jr.) was second at 9:41.05, Pierce Yoder (Barr-Reeve, Jr.) third at 9:45.81. Kyle Woehler (Jasper, Sr.) won the 1600 in 4:40.48, well clear of Jacob Dalton (Northview, So.) at 4:47.79.
Lexi Kollbaum leads the girls distance
Bloomington South junior Lexi Kollbaum won the girls 1600 at the ISU Qualifier in 5:02.95, nearly 23 seconds ahead of runner-up Paige Voigtschild (Bedford North Lawrence, Jr.) at 5:25.90. On the girls 3200 side, John Marshall senior Molly Farrell won in 11:11.46, with Southridge senior Maddie Graber second at 11:29.01.
Shot put: a tie at the top on the boys side
Adis Hamidovic (Bloomington North, Sr.) and Noah Field (Bloomington South, Sr.) finished level at 53-7.75 in the boys shot put at the ISU Qualifier. Keenan Mowery-Shields (South Putnam, Jr.) was third at 51-11.25. Ryan Hescher (Terre Haute South Vigo, Sr.) had thrown 52-3.25 to win the same event at the Brave Elephant Invite earlier in the weekend, placing fifth at 50-10.00 in the ISU field.
Lauryn Coleman throws twice
Terre Haute South Vigo sophomore Lauryn Coleman won the girls shot put at both meets - 33-4.75 at the Brave Elephant Invite and 37-4.00 at the ISU Qualifier. Ashley Greer (Bloomington North, Jr.) was second at the ISU meet at 36-10.50.
Bloomington South girls own the relays
Bloomington South swept the girls 4x200 (1:50.74), 4x800 (9:18.98), and DMR (12:09.24) at the ISU Qualifier. Evansville Mater Dei won the girls 4x400 in 4:13.99 with John Marshall second at 4:17.10. On the boys side, Bloomington North took the 4x400 in 3:25.85 and Bloomington South won the 4x800 in 8:29.58.
Trey Greenlee wins the boys high jump
White River Valley senior Trey Greenlee cleared 6-4.00 to win the boys HJ at the ISU Qualifier. Five athletes tied at 5-10.00 behind him - Mason Zazzetti (Jasper, So.), Chance Coffey (Terre Haute North Vigo, So.), Camron Umphries (Northview, Sr.), Aiden Fleetwood (Vincennes Lincoln, Sr.), and Lucas Jerger (Jasper, Sr.).
Karsyn Buck clears 5-4 in the girls high jump
Northview senior Karsyn Buck won the girls HJ at 5-4.00 at the ISU Qualifier. Kena Maddox (Eastern Greene, Sr.) was second at 5-1.00 - Maddox had also won the girls HJ at the Brave Elephant Invite at 4-10.00.
Alan Hays wins the boys hurdles
Bloomington North senior Alan Hays won the boys 60 hurdles at the ISU Qualifier in 8.31, having run 8.56 in prelims where Jordan Paul (Boonville, Sr.) led at 8.40. Paul finished second in the final at 8.46. Liam Conlin (Bloomington North, Jr.) was third at 8.64.
