VOTE: Indiana Girls Performer of the Week (9/22-9/29)

Indiana Girls Performer of the Week

Make sure to cast your vote for this week's performer of the week here! Every week we will be conducting a poll beginning Monday and ending Thursday to highlight performances from the previous week. This will give us an opportunity to showcase some of the best talent in Indiana. Though some athletes will likely run times every week that are worthy of being in the poll, our goal is to showcase a vast array of athletes that win or have notable performances from all parts of the state. Once an athlete earns a performer of the week title they will be ineligible for the following weeks, this will allow for new names to pop up each week to celebrate various accomplishments.

Each week's poll can be found in the "More Articles in Series" link below. A brief summary of each week's winner can also be found under the poll

Girls Performer of the Week from 9/2-9/8: Macey Thompson - Lake Central

Macey Thompson would earn the first girls performance of the year with her victory at the Harrison Invitational at the Tippecanoe County Amphitheator Park. This would be Macey's fourth consective win to start the season after taking victories at the Valley Kick Off, Larry James Invitational, and the Rudy Skorupa Invitational. Her time from this past weekend would be the first time in her career that she would break the 18 minute mark with a 17:45.7. She would help lead a very strong Lake Central team to another team win as well. Her time also ranks as the 5th fastest in the state after compiling this weekend's results.

Girls Performer of the Week from 9/9-9/15: Lucy Kramer - Homestead

Lucy Kramer would earn the second girls performances of the week with her victory at the Northrop Bruin Invitational. She would run a 18:42 over her teammate Caterina Perego who would run a 18:57. Lucy recorded a personal best time at the Marion Invitational with a 18:21 that ranks her 21st in the state as of publishing this bio. Lucy looks to be in great position to make the podium this fall as an individual after being close last season with a 33rd place finish for the Homestead team that would win state.

Girls Performer of the Week from 9/16-9/22: Whitney Anderson - Valparaiso

Whitney Anderson earned the third girls performance of the week with her runner-up peformance in the New Prairie AAA race with a time of 18:24. Our first POTW winner, Macey Thompson, would win the race with a 18:19. The duo would be the only runners in the race under the 19 minute mark. This would be Whitney's fifth top five performance of the year including two wins from the Manchester Invitational and the Marion Invitational. Whitney is the top returning freshman from the state meet last fall where she placed fifth and was the only freshman in the top ten.
