Weekly Indiana Cross Country Recap: FlashRock, NP + Others

Statewide Girls Updates

Most of Indiana's top talent on the girls side compted at either the FlashRock Invitational or New Prairie Invite. However there were a few performances that came from outside of these meets.

At the Johnson County Championship defending state champion Libby Dowty from Indian Creek would almost earn her second sub 17 minute performance of the year as she would win by over 75 seconds with a 17:00.6. Lillian Rollings, who owns the 9th fastest time in the state this season, would finish runner-up. Center Grove would knock off Whiteland in an exciting team race here 52-54.

At the West Noble Invitational Kenya Leitch from Columbia City would win with a 18:14.10. She would defeat reigning MileSplit Indiana girls performer of the week Lucy Kramer in route to her win. In the team race roles would be reversed however with Homestead defeating Columbia City 34-76. 

In Kentucky at the the Trinity/Valkrie Invitaitonal two girls would earn top 15 performances in the top seeded race. Finishing 8th from Edgewood would be Hannah Crain with a 18:19.68 with Floyd Central's Adeline Shultz earning a time of 18:40.15 in Louisville. The Floyd Central girls would also finish with an impressive placing at sixth in the 28 team field.

At Conference Indiana Carys Glyn Jones and Columbus North would both be dominant with Carys winning with a 18:36.4 and the team scoring an impressive 19 points.
