Statewide Notable Boys Performances

Another major race took place this weekend in Kentucky at the 2024 Central Kentucky Run for the Gold meet. Jackson Nolan from Evansville F.J. Reitz secured a third-place finish with a time of 15:23.6. University of Notre Dame signee Riku Sugie won the race in 15:11.9. Nolan's team performed impressively, moving up throughout the race to claim the team victory over Lafayette in the final kilometer 127-144 in the 49 school field.

At the Rudy Skorupa Invite at Lake Central, Shane Conroy separated himself from the field to finish with a time of 15:37.54, earning Indiana's fifth fastest time of the year. He edged out Lake Central's Ben Perschon, who also broke 16 minutes, finishing in 15:49.54. Perschon's team finished runner-up to Crown Point with a score of 58-71.

At Taylor University, Zionsville's Jack Turnbull led the charge with a 15:47 finish, placing him in the early-season top 10 for Indiana performances. Yorktown's Wyatt Turner, Western's Camden Raab, and Homestead's Cooper Knoblauch also broke 16 minutes, with Knoblauch leading a trio of Spartan runners to victory over Zionsville with a score of 44-74.

Other highlights include Ahmed Saleh winning the Mt. Vernon Invite with a time of 15:51.43, Aboubakar Ibrahim winning the Marion County Championships after a breakout 4K win at Northview last weekend, and Bryan Garcia from New Haven breaking the 16-minute barrier in Ohio at the Columbus Grove XC Invite.
