Facing off against some of the best distance talent in the world, Cole Hocker cemented his status as not only one of the best distance talents that the United States has but as one of the best in the world.

Hocker competed in the men's 2-mile race against a who's who of the worlds best in 2023 World 1500m Champion Josh Kerr, American 5000m and 10000m record holder Grant Fisher, 4x NCAA Champion Morgan McDonald, and many more standout distance runners.

Hocker finished third in the 2-mile event at the 2024 Millrose Games, running a time of 8:05.70 which puts him in some elite company. With his time of 8:05.70, Hocker ran the 10th fastest 2-mile time of all-time and the 4th fastest indoor 2-mile time of all-time.

Hocker was able to hold off New Zealand record holder George Beamish for third place, finishing just ahead of him by less than a second. He held his place in the pack for the first half of the race, and then took over third place shortly after.

Great Britain's Josh Kerr was the overall champion with a time of 8:00.67, shattering the previous world indoor (short track) record by three seconds en route to his win in 8:00.67 inside the Armory in New York City. The previous record was held by Mo Farah with a time of 8:03.40.
