SPRINT EVENTS
In the 60m dash Emily Norris from Carmel would be the only girl under 8 to win with a 7.89, which is currently third for the state behind Sarah Madi-Bouabre of Avon who ran a 7.82 to win the Indiana Runner Opener as well as Nadia Ford who ran a 7.88. Norris would end up doubling in the running events with 200m where she would finish runner to Kristina Petkova of Goshen who ran a 26.33 . Laila Smith from Warren Central would easily win by over a quarter second in the 60m hurdles to take the state's leading time and only sub 9 second performance. Interestingly this time would be fast enough to place third in the boys race.
MID-DISTANCE EVENTS
Laila Smith would also dominate the 400m, being the only sub 60 with a 3.71 second victory with a 59.54, good for IN #3. In the 800m Warsaw's Josefina Rastrelli would run to an easy 2:20.93 victory to win by more than 10 seconds and take one of the top times in the state. The Warsaw standout recently ran in the HOKA mile and owns a PR of 4:49.49 from the outdoor state meet last year where she was the state runner-up at her future home at IU Bloomington.
DISTANCE EVENTS
Hannah Moore from Northwestern, like Joey, would also run to an easy victory over 10 seconds with a time of 5:13.14. The future Butler Bulldog was not far off from her PR of 5:04 from the 2022 outdoor season. Alayna Bruckner would be the only sub 12 minute performance in the 3200 taking the win with a 11:31.11.
FIELD EVENTS
In the high jump all three entrants would all end up jumping to the same height. Kylie Kenefic, Anna Mellentine, and Emily Norris would all clear 4' 10". In the pole vault Addison Windsor would be the top high school finisher after vaulting over the 10' 6" mark. Eighth grader Samantha Clyde would win the event as the sole athlete to clear 11 feet. Warsaw's Abbi Kohler would win at her home facility with a throw of 31' 3", 4 feet off her best mark from the Trine HSR qualifier last season. Over at long jump Carmel's Emily Norris would finish off her double-double competing in two running events (60m and 200m) and two field events (HJ and LJ). Her best jump of the day would win the meet by over 2 feet with a mark of 17' 10".
