It is time to VOTE! Last week, there were many outstanding performances by Indiana athletes taking place on the track and in the field. A couple record breaking performances, some outstanding doubles, and just flat out elite races.
We've narrowed down all the performances to the following six athletes for you to vote for Indiana Performer of the Week.
Indiana Performer of the Week Nominees
Gretchen Farley - Park Tudor HS
Rachel Mehringer - Forest Park HS
Nayyir Newash-Campbell - Plainfield HS
Nicki Southerland - Delta HS
Jordan Randall - Warsaw Community HS

Disclaimer: This week's poll was kept to Track and Field performances. We would be remiss to not mention in this article that Kole Mathison competed in the U20 World Cross Country Championships and placed 25th to help team USA place 3rd as a team.
Check under the poll for details about each candidates performance from the week and then vote below on who you think is Indiana Performer of the week for February 13th-February 19th. Poll will close at 11:59pm on Thursday.
Indiana Performer of the Week Nominees
Gretchen Farley - Park Tudor: Farley raced at the Alex Wilson invitational over the weekend at Notre Dame, the site of her future college endeavors. Farley put up a time of 2:10.84 for 800 meters. Just about a second off her personal best and a time that sits as the current #1 performance in Indiana so far this season.
Rachel Mehringer - Forest Park: Mehringer is one of two nominees to have set an indoor state record over the weekend. The two-time defending state champion in the 100 hurdles set the indoor state record in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.55 at the ISU Open, also the site of her future collegiate career. The time obviously sits as #1 in Indiana, but is also currently 17th in the nation.
Nayyir Newash-Campbell - Plainfield: The second of our record breakers this week, Newash-Campbell raced to a time of 48.56 for the 400 meters to break the indoor state record by a mere 0.01 seconds. Newash-Campbell is defending state champion in the 400 meters, and this record breaking performance at the MVP Vibe Fest in Chicago gets his senior season off to a great start.
Nicki Southerland - Delta: Southerland very quietly put up an unreal double at the Thunder HS Open at Trine on Saturday. She started the day by breaking five minutes in the 1600 meters with a 4:55.31 and then followed it up with a 2:12.59 in the 800. A fantastic double this early in the season and both of those times would have been good enough for top 5 finishes at last year's state finals.
Jordan Randall - Warsaw Community: The Warsaw Community freshmen has jumped, literally, onto the track and field scene with a high jump performance of 6'5" at the Thunder HS Open. That jump ranks as the #2 all-time indoor high jump by a freshmen in Indiana history.
Mason Schmitz - Fall Creek: A rare sight to see a non high schooler here but Schmitz has put up some impressive numbers. At the Indiana Runner Sprint showcase the 8th grader placed 2nd in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.09 that ranks him #1 in the NATION for junior high athletes. His day was not done there as he came back for the distance showcase and placed 3rd in the 800 with a time of 2:02.90.
