Warsaw Indoor Showcase #3 - Luke Himes Breaks 60-00 in Shot


Luke Himes, Heritage Christian, continued a strong and consistent indoor campaign Saturday at the Warsaw Indoor Showcase #3. Himes threw 60-03.00 to easily win the shot and improve on his consistent 58-59' season this far. The throw puts Himes into the Top 20 as of writing this story in the country.

On the girls side, Morgan Patterson, FW Northrop, continued her dominant indoor hurdle and sprint performances. Patterson won both the 60m hurdle and dash events and ran second in the 400m dash.

Girls

  • Pole Vault - Joseleen Niebba cleared 10-00 to take the win
  • High Jump - Marin Hart jumps 5-00.00 to win the gold
  • Long Jump - Kahlen Tucker launches 16-04.00 to win by almost a foot
  • Shot Put - both Abby Sanner and Isabel Niswander break 30-00 with sanner winning in       30-06.50 to best Niswander by four inches 
  • 60m Hurdles - Morgan Patterson continues her winning streak in 9.27 / Marin Hart doubles back to run 9.79 for second
  • 1600m - Victoria Clibon and Lauren Walda battled to a great finish with Clibon winning in 5:16.03 to Walda's 5:20.88
  • 60m Dash - Morgan Patterson doubles back for the in in 8.01 - just edging Tajaina McKenzie and Nelly Vaughn's 8.03 2nd & 3rd place finished in the closest race of the day
  • 400m - Emma Hellwege won in an outstanding time of 1:02.82 - besting Morgan Patterson in her 3rd event with Patterson coming home in 1:04.06 
  • 3200m - Lauren Walda doubled back from the 1600 to run 11:33.56 for the easy win
  • 200m - Tajaina McKenzie doubled back to win in 26.23 with Nelly Vaughn coming in 2nd in 27.21
  • 800m - Emma Hellwege and Sydnee Sinn both broke 2:25 with Hellwege winning in 2:22.96 and Sinn coming home with a 2:24.93 for second

Boys

  • 60m Hurdles - Luke Kaufhold edged Jonathan Chimbanda 9.18 to 9.21 for win 
  • 1600m - Ethan Moore led a close 1-2-3 finish in 4:32.24. Moore edged Gabe Connely and Harrison Niswander with the pair coming home respectively in 4:33.20 and 4:33.72
  • 60m Dash - Kemari Robinson broke the 7.00 mark with his strong 6.94 win- just edging Jamal Hailey's 7.02
  • 400m - Jeremy Johnson won his second event of the day with an almost 3 second win- coming home in 51.08
  • 3200m - All-State CC runner Cole Raymond led three under 10:00 - winning in 9:45.43 - James Dillabaugh and Deion Guise were 2nd and 3rd in 9:59.13 and 9:59.46, respectively
  • 200m - Jamal Hailey just edged Haiden Diemer-McKinney for the win - Hailey won in 23.10 to Diemer-McKinney's 23.18
  • 800m - Gabe Connely won in a fine 2:02.16 - outrunning the field by over 5 seconds in the 4-lap race
