BIG Ten Cross Country Championship set for January 30th

Earlier this week, it was announced via the Purdue Athletics website, that the Big Ten Championships for men's and women's cross-country will be January 30th at Shelbyville's Blue River Course.

The Blue River course has played host to several collegiate and HS meets including the Shelbyville semi-state. There will be no spectators allowed from the general public.

This meet will be go big or go home for all travelling teams, as the there are no NCAA regionals for cross-country this season, so selection for the national championships will be done strictly from conference results.

The Men's 8K course record is held by Ian McVey with a time of 24:52 and the women's 6K course record is held by Clair Lamb with a time of 20:58. Both records were set at the 2018 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Region Cross Country Championships. Both records will be in jeapordy when these athletes toe the line in just a few short weeks.

More details regarding the meet will be released in the coming days.
