2020 IHSAA Sectional Previews: 16-32

Sectional 19 - Noblesville

Sectional #19 features two teams that could make a run at the state championship. Carmel and Noblesville both have five runners capable of running under 16:00, and the two schools should have a close race for the sectional championship this weekend. Noblesville's leader Travis Hickner and Carmel's Kole Mathison are both ranked inside the top five in the state. Should Noblesville knock off Carmel on Saturday, it would snap a streak of 12 straight sectional championships for the Greyhounds.

Guerin Catholic and Westfield are both enjoying teams that could win most sectionals, but will likely be left to fight for third. Lebanon should take the fifth spot and advance to the regional.

Carmel boasts a girls team that should be one of the favorites in the state meet this year. Greyhounds Annie Christie and Jasmine Klopstad are both ranked in the top ten in Indiana this season.

Noblesville and Westfield both have seven girls that have run under 20:00 this year, which should make for a good race for second. Guerin Catholic has a team that should be good enough for fourth while Hamilton Heights, Lebanon, and Western Boone battle for the last transfer spot.

The Noblesville sectional will start at 9:00 AM Eastern Time.
