Carmel competed in today's State Preview Meet held at the LaVerne Gibson course in Terre Haute and ran well to win with 36 points. Additional teams included Valparaiso (86), Brebeuf (96), Cathedral (144), Zionsville (153), Terre Haute South (181), Homestead (220), Seymour (221), Ben Davis (273), Terre Haute North (324), Center Grove (338), Castle (380), Memorial (422), Evansville North (442), Danville (446), Jasper (454), Greencastle (459), Plainfield (483), Bedford North Lawrence (501), Northview (507), Union Homeschool (547), Decatur Central (557) and Mater Dei (674). Individual winner was Brebeuf's Zach Snider in 15:50.8. Running for Carmel were Ben Veatch (3rd in 16:05.0), Robert Browning (7th in 16:21.6), Michael George (8th in 16:26.6), Kyle Hook (12th in 16:30.8), Joshua Horowitz (14th in 16:32.3), Thomas Revard (18th in 16:44.9), Ben Anderson (19th in 16:46.6), Zachary Leinheiser (26th in 16:52.1), Alexander Cashbaugh (30th in 17:02.0), Daniel Sechuga (34th in 17:09.6), Andrew Kalthoff (55th in 17:34.2) and Elijah St. Angelo (73rd in 17:58.0).
The Greyhounds also won the Reserve race with 18 points. Other teams included Cathedral (52), Homestead (77), Zionsville (115), Terre Haute South (147), Center Grove (151), Jasper (254), Castle (280), Ben Davis (284), Memorial (300), Bedford North Lawrence (327), Seymour (330) and Evansville North (340). Individual winner was Carmel's Zach Horowitz in 17:30.6. Top Carmel runners included Michael Lukovic (2nd in 17:36.3), Conor Lyons (4th in 17:47.6), Drew Watson (5th in 18:05.6), Evan Bouillet (6th in 18:06.6), Kyle Weaver (7th in 18:15.5), Jonah Nichol (8th in 18:20.7) and Bryan Miller (10th in 18:22.1).
Carmel will compete next in the Ben Davis Invitational on Saturday September 14, 2013.
