Redshirt sophomore Andy Bayer took the world lead with a track and school record in the 3,000 meters on day one at the Gladstein Invitational. The meet produced world-leading marks and a junior college national record, and there is still a day of competition to go.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - In just the first day of competition at the Gladstein Invitational on Friday evening, the University of Louisville men's and women's track teams had 13 athletes register BIG EAST indoor qualifying marks at the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse.
Blazer sophomore Shakima Knox claimed the 60-meter title as the UAB track & field team concluded the Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana Saturday. The Tuscaloosa, Ala. native clocked a time of 7.60 in the event. Knox also ran to a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter invitational, with a time of 25.25.

Indiana finished the Gladstein Invitational in the national spotlight. Indiana produced times and marks that rank among the best in the country and the world this season and finished the meet with wins in 19 events. Day two of the meet was highlighted by Kind Butler winning a pair of events and Derek Drouin winning in dominating fashion in the heptathlon.
