Before the IHSAA State Cross Country Championship a couple of months ago, we hosted a Fantasy XC Challenge for the MileSplit Indiana community. In this friendly competition for bragging rights, participants selected 25 runners who qualified for the state championship to form their fantasy team. Scoring was based on the top 20 finishers from each team, with ties decided by the performance of the 21st runner.
A perfect score in this format would be 210 points, representing a team where 20 of your selected 25 runners placed in the top 20 at the state meet.
Congratulations to Josh Horowitz for winning the girls' competition with an impressive near-perfect score of 221 points, and to bnxcfan for claiming victory in a highly unpredictable boys' competition with 294 points.
