A phenom, prodigy, and an all-time great.
Meet Hadley Lucas.
Hadley Lucas stands as a beacon of excellence in the world of high school track and field, dominating the shot put and discus events in Indiana and across the country. As Indiana's state record holder in both disciplines, Hadley has not only etched her name into the annals of her home state's athletic history but has also earned national recognition.
Her remarkable achievements include ranking #4 all-time nationally in the shot put according to our database and tying having some monster throws in the discus, a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication to her throwing events.
Just last month she entered the annals of history with her dominant performances. First at the Mustang Invitational on April 20th, she threw 170' 0" in the discus, winning the event by over 17 feet. Then a few weeks later she would one up herself to throw a 174' 9" at the BHSN Invite right before the tournament kicked off.
Both would crush the previous state record of 169' 5" which was held by Edgewood's Stacy Martin from 2009. Also of note from this year was Noblesville's Hannah Alexander who entered Indiana's all time top 5 in the discus with a PR effort of 163' 10" at the Miller Invitational this year.

Her mark of 170' 0" was also a nationally historic mark, making her just the 59th girl all-time to record a discus throw over 170 feet. Her PR a few weeks later of 174' 9" currently ranks her 4th in the country. This is a very prominent and historic mark, but doesn't even come close to her best event. Lucas is one of the nations best discus throwers, but when it comes to the shot put, she is one of the all-time great high school throwers ever.
On April 26th this year, Lucas threw a mark of 54' 10" in the shot put at the Conference Indiana Championships, beating the nearest competitor by almost 20 feet. This mark catapulted Lucas from 45th on the all-time shot put list, up to 4th place all-time.

She has thrown 50' 3.5" this past indoor season as well as appearing to notch an outdoor best this past week at the East Central sectional with a toss of 50" 2.25".
