The Warsaw Tiger Showcase saw some of Indiana's best athletes convene in North Central Indiana this weekend to compete in the first of two indoor meets on the campus of Warsaw High School.
One of the best performances of the day came from Riley Buroff. The Churubusco Senior won the 400-meter dash in a blistering 50.91 seconds, the fastest time in Indiana so far this season. Buroff finished fifth in the 400 at the state meet last year, and could be a real threat to win the state title in 2023.
Angel Thomas of South Bend Adams High School was the winner in the 60-meter dash, just barely cracking eight seconds with a time of 7.99. Thomas finished fourth in the 100-meter dash at the 2022 State Finals, and will be one of the favorites to win that event in her senior season.
Warsaw's own Josefina Rastrelli won the 800-meter run on her home track with a time of 2:24.37. That time ranks second in the state so far in this young indoor season.
Another cross country all-stater came away from the Tiger Showcase with an event win as Concordia's Lexi Panning won the 1600 meter run in new personal best of 5:17.
Warsaw will be hosting their second indoor meet of 2023 in two weeks' time on Saturday, February 11th.
*Field Event Highlights will be added once final results have been posted*
