Marshall Newest Sub-4 Indiana Native

The collegiate running world just saw a few more athletes break the four minute barrier in the mile over the weekend. Here at MileSplit Indiana, our eyes were on one specific athlete that went under four minutes.

Former Indiana State Champion in the 1600 and Corydon Central alumni Camden Marshall was one of two Indiana Hoosiers to run under four minutes along with teammate Jake Gebhardt. Marshall becomes the 17th Indiana native to break the once historic barrier.

Marshall's time of 3:59.30 actually places him 12th overall on that long list of former Indiana high schoolers to go under four minutes. Marshall is the first sub-4 Indiana native of 2023 after five former Indiana natives accomplished the feat in 2022.

Those times for Gebhardt (3:59.18) and Marshall rank as the 9th and 10th best times in Indiana program history as well.

Welcome to the sub-4 club Camden Marshall!
