Sectional 9- South Bend Riley

Bremen, Glenn, Mishawaka Marian, LaVille, Mishawaka, South Bend Adams, Penn, South Bend Career Academy, South Bend Clay, South Bend Riley, South Bend Saint Joseph, South Bend Washington, Trinity Greenlawn

Sectional 9 has been dominated by Penn over the last decade, and the Kingsmen are heavy favorites to win both the girls and boys races again in 2022. Should Penn win both titles on Saturday, it would be their seventh straight boy championship and their thirteenth consecutive girls championship.

Individually, look for Mishawaka's Liam Bauschke to lead the way in the boys race. Bauschke clocked a career best time of 15:48 at the Northern Lake Conference Championships last week. Expect Mishawaka and South Bend Adams to have a close race for second in the team standings, with South Bend St. Joseph and South Bend Riley close behind.

Penn is capable of sweeping the top three places in the girls race with Mary Eubank, Julia Economou, and Ellie Stabnik. Mishawaka, South Bend Adams, and South Bend St. Joseph all have a realistic chance at finishing second while South Bend Riley and Mishawaka Marian race for the fifth and final transfer spot into the Regional.

Sectional #9 from South Bend Riley will get under way at 8:30 AM Eastern Time.
