Lily Cridge Commits to the University of Oregon

The 2021 IHSAA Cross Country state champion, Lily Cridge, announced her commitment to the University of Oregon on Wednesday evening. The Bishop Chatard senior and 10th ranked recruit in the class of 2023 has gone undefeated thus far in Indiana and is set to compete once again at the RunningLane National Championships in Alabama where she will contend for a national title on one of the fastest courses in the country.

Cridge is just the 2nd recruit to announce her commitment to the UO. She can officially sign on November 9th, the first day of the NIL period for the class of 2023.

The standout distance runner sat out a majority of this past track season to allow herself to be fully healthy and to give herself a mental break. She did run on Chatard's 4x800 relay at the state meet, running the anchor leg in their 11th place finish. This rest period seems to have paid off thus far as she has run under 17:30 in all 3 races she has run this season and winning those by large margins.

Cridge will have 5 more opportunities to race on Indiana soil this fall. Up next on the Trojan's schedule is the City Championships this weekend before the tournament season. Only time will tell how much longer the senior can go undefeated.
