After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19 and the restrictions of many college and universities across Indiana, and the nation, the Hoosier State Relays is set to return in 2022. Indiana University has committed, pending Covid-19 numbers, to hosting the meet on Saturday, March 26th.
This is significant news for track enthusiasts as IU had limited and even canceled outside groups from hosting events on campus into February.
The meet is split into two divisions based upon the IHSAA's football classifications. The small school division consists of A, AA, and AAA football schools while the big school division is comprised of 4A, 5A, and 6A schools.
The Top 24 in each of the track events and the long jump and shot put and the Top 18 in the pole vault and high jump will be qualify for the finals.
The small schools will compete first this year, starting at 10:00 a.m. The large schools will take to the track next, with an anticipated start time of 4 p.m.
You must qualify in the window of February 28 - March 20 in an official HSR qualifying meet. That list can found on the IATCCC's website. All material for meet hosts and coaches can be found there as well. All coaches and meet directors should be well-versed on the rules for declaring your athletes and having your meet included on the HSR qualifying list.

- 60 Meter Hurdle
- 60 Meter Dash
- 3200 Meter Run
- 4×800 Meter Relay
- 4×200 Meter Relay
- DMR (1200,400,800,1600)
- 4×400 Meter Relay
Field Events contested are:
- Pole Vault
- Long Jump
- Shot Put
- High Jump
Both individual medals to the Top 8 and a team championship will be awarded.
