Four more girls added their names to the list of sub-18:00 times for the season. Delta's Nicki Southerland etched her name as a contender for the state championship with a fast 17:28 at the Marion Invitational. Not be outdone, Columbus North's Julia Kiesler ran 17:35 to introduce herself to Indiana's cross country scene. In the same race Jaydon Cirinione, Floyd Central, dipped under the barrier as did Bailey Ranta from Chesterton at the Marion Invitational. Overall, 27 girls broke the 19:00-minute barrier and 115 broke 20:00. Indiana has started the season with one its deepest female fields ever and does not look to be slowing down anytime soon!
