Rick Sluder Ready To Take The Reins As New Indiana Editor

Hello Indiana cross country and track & field athletes, coaches and fans!

My name is Rick Sluder and I'm taking on the role of Editor for the MileSplit Indiana site. I have been a life-long Hoosier with about 30 years worth of different roles in the sport. I grew up running for North Central (Farmersburg), lettered twelve times at Indiana State University in cross country and indoor/outdoor track and field. I was lucky enough to run for a sponsored club, the Indiana Invaders, for about 5 years. I began coaching with a two year stint at Franklin College before moving to an 11 year tenure at Munster High School. I'm currently the head girls cross country and boys & girls track and field coach at Columbus North High School. Finally, I have also served as the Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches president and I've coached both the cross country and track & field state all-star teams.

These experiences have given me a huge knowledge and love of Indiana track & field and cross country. I really am looking forward to bringing even more of our state's rich track & field and cross country action to more people and spreading the passion I have to others. The opportunities MileSplit provides for people to read, watch, and learn even more about some of the best athletes in the state is something that I am excited to be a part of daily!  As a coach, I also appreciate that MileSplit offers great help with meet management and results and is a fantastic tool for athletes to get their profiles out to colleges and universities.

Overall, I cannot wait to spread these two sports and get more attention directed to the phenomenal athletes we have in Indiana. If I can be of help to you in any way, please email me at: sluderr@bcsc.k12.in.us.  We will be building a team in Indiana of contributors, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you might be interested in helping add content to the site. Writers, photographers, video personnel can all contribute greatly to our platform.

Thank you and I look forward to adding to your enjoyment of our sports through MileSplit Indiana!
